Cello Sizing Guide

How to measure for a Cello

  • Sit up straight on a chair, your feet must be touching the floor.
  • Set the endpin of the cello to around 12 inches.
  • Now at a 45 degree angle, let the cello rest against your chest. The top of the cello must rest at the center of your chest. The C string peg must be near your left ear.

Ages 4 and younger 110 size If 18 is too large
Ages 4 to 6 18 size 4 ft. and smaller
Ages 5 to 7 14 size 4 ft. and smaller
Ages 7 to 11 12 size 4 ft. to 4.5 ft.
Ages 11 to 15 34 size 4.5 ft. to 5 ft.
Ages 15 and older 44 size 5 ft. and taller
